Lara Scaglia
Hi!
I am Lara Scaglia, Phd, I am currently working as Postdoc investigator in the LOR project at the Department of Social Philosophy and collaborating with the German Philosophy Lab at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Warsaw.
In November 2018, I defended my PhD dissertation at the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona (UAB).My thesis, which I developed under the supervision of Prof. Sturm, focuses on Kant’s notion of a transcendental schema, its relation to pre-Kantian uses of the notion of a schema and cognate expressions (e.g. sensorium commune ) as well as its legacy in the fields of philosophy and psychology
After my PhD, I conducted research into Kant’s ethics at the Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main, the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Kant-Forschungsstelle at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. At the same time, I had the opportunity to deepen my interest in the relation between Western thought and philosophy in the Islam. At the moment I am interested in the notion of enlightenment, intended as a result of Immanuel Kant's account of reason, that characterises an intellectual attitude, the legacy of which had resonance not only in the Western but also in the Arabic intellectual context, as exemplified by Mohammed Al Jabri's Critique of Arabic Reason.
